We still have a lower than average number of properties for sale on Salt Spring so far in 2022.

Although it feels like demand might be decreasing, it is not reflected in the current statistics. The low inventory coupled with active buyers is keeping things moving.

There have been 67 property sales totalling $72,588,650 on Salt Spring Island From January1, 2022 to May14, 2022.

2021 was definitely a sellers' market. There was a low inventory of properties for sale and a large influx of buyers due to a number of factors including continued low interest rates and COVID. Salt Spring buyers were looking to move from the cities, move to larger houses because they were working from home and buying recreational properties.

The Salt Spring real estate market continues to be fast paced in the first two months of 2021. This is unusual from a historical perspective but the past year of covid has been anything but usual.

We have a very low number of listings in both residences and land and there are a number of active buyers in the market. This has lead to multiple competing offers for some properties.

There were 240 sales totalling $187,978,383.

The numbers are from the Victoria Real Estate Board multiple listings service and there are some sales that are not captured in this data. We estimate that 2020's totals would be between 10 to 20% higher if all sales were shown.
